Our cookers use three sizes of hob burners. The standard size is the ‘semi rapide’ burner. Small simmer rings are‘auxillaire’ burners and the large hob rings are ‘rapide burners’. Over the years we have used several different types of hob burner. The earliest cookers used the EW burners. These were replaced in 1989 with the MV burners, which were then replaced by the ECO burners in 2003. The most recent change was to SC burners in 2011. Unfortunately, the different burner parts are not interchangeable between the different types.
